After the decision

Once planning permission has been granted or refused, there are some additional steps.

If your application is refused, you can appeal. You can find out more about appealing a planning application here

If your application is granted, you may need to discharge any planning conditions. This means that you submit evidence demonstrating that your development has complied with the conditions set by the planning officer. Find out more about discharging planning conditions.

Your development may require Building Regulations approval. This is a separate process, and you can find out more here.

If you need to make changes to your planning permission after it has been granted, you can apply for a non-material amendment. This page explains the process.
