The Mayor of the Borough is chosen each year at the council's Annual Meeting, and must be one of the elected Members of the council.
The Mayor carries out ceremonial duties, chairs meetings and call some meetings.
The ceremonial role may involve hosting or attending events, welcoming visitors, and promoting the Borough of West Devon. The Mayor is an ambassador for the Borough and its residents.
