What are the benefits?
- If you become a co-opted Member on specific Council committees, it means we are able to benefit from your local input and specialist expertise
- You will have the opportunity to take part in meetings and to vote on decisions.
What are the current opportunities?
Currently, at West Devon Borough Council, co-opted Members can be appointed, in certain instances, on to the:
- Overview and Scrutiny Committee - entitled to recommend to the Council the appointment of co-opted Members on to its Committee.
- Audit Committee - has the ability to appoint co-opted Members on to its Committee.
- Standards Committee - has the ability to co-opt up to two town/parish Councillors on to its Committee to determine decisions which relate to town or parish Councillors.
