Mineral Resource Assessment
Required for applications located within a Mineral Safeguarding Area (MSA) or Mineral Consultation Area (MCA).
For development within an MCA, Policy M2 of the Devon Minerals Plan seeks to safeguard mineral resources. However it does allow for non-mineral development. The applicant will need to demonstrate that the mineral resource is not of current or potential economic or heritage value.
The need for an MRA will ideally be identified by DCC through pre-application consultation or on consultation following submission of a planning application.
