The Conservation Area includes the main village street at Sampford Courtenay. It extends from its southern boundary at the junction with the B.3216 road northwards to the centre of the village around St Andrew's Church and Sampford Barton. The northern boundary of the area is formed by Bulland Lane and Weirford Lane. The area also extends west to the western boundary of OS plot 1731.
All buildings fronting on to the roads, and their curtilages within this area are included.
