If you’re struggling with day to day living costs such as food, energy costs or essential household items, help is at hand for eligible residents through our Household Support Fund.
All care leavers who live within the Borough [between 2 June and 30 September 2024] will be prioritised with a £500 payment to be paid before the end of June. If we are told of any new care leavers before the end of the September, we will release their payment quickly within two weeks of their application.
With limited finances of £125k available, we will also prioritise residents with the lowest incomes to help support as many households as possible.
We can help with one-off financial payments, or other support, until 30 September 2024, however we may need to close the scheme earlier if funds run out sooner. We cannot predict every challenge our residents may face, so we will be accepting open applications for essential types of support which cannot be budgeted for. These items will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
