Our Housing Strategy

South Hams and West Devon Councils adopted a joint Housing Strategy in April 2021.

This document sets out the Council's housing priorities for the next five years, until 2026.

The strategy explains our priorities under two themes:

  • Housing for Place; and
  • Housing for People

Housing for Place

We want to promote balanced and sustainable communities in the South Hams and West Devon, and ensure that homes support the health and wellbeing of the area.

Housing for People

We want to make sure that homes support the health and wellbeing of our residents, as well as making the best use of and improving the quality of existing housing.
