You can use the following methods to pay your business rates.

Remember, whatever payment method you choose make sure you have your business rates account number to hand. You can find this on your most recent bill; it is 9 digits long and starts with a 3.

Pay by Direct Debit

Please telephone us 01822 616939 and our Customer Services team will be able to set this up for you over the telephone. We can offer you a choice of payment dates:

  • 1st of the month
  • 15th of the month
  • 28th of the month

Pay by Debit Card or Credit Card

You can make a payment 24 hours a day by calling our automated payment line on 0300 333 3232.

Pay by Internet Banking, Standing Order, or in person at a bank or building society

A fee may be chargeable for each transaction and you should check this before you make your payment

Pay in person

The council accepts payments at the cash office at Kilworthy Park, Tavistock or Okehampton Customer Service Centre, Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Please see our Find Our Offices or Call Us page for directions to your nearest office.

Cheques should be made payable to West Devon Borough Council. Please write your Business Rate account number on the back of your cheque.

By Post
