At the end of the first national lock down, South Hams and West Devon launched a scheme to say thank you to all those people and organisations who did incredible things to help their communities.
The scheme involved nominations being made under one of seven categories. Nominations are now closed and a panel of judges will assess those nominated and a winner for each authority will be announced. The Councils received over 100 nominations, for over 40 different individuals and organisations.

These pages are just one part of the scheme. Those who do win a category will be presented with a certificate, and thanked publicly at a Council meeting early next year.
Cllr Judy Pearce, Leader of South Hams District Council, said: "To all of those people who stood up and supported their communities earlier this year, and continue to support their communities again now - we cannot thank you enough.
"These are extremely difficult times for everyone. For some people, they struggle to get the day-to-day essentials, or need help with medical supplies, for others it is the isolation, loneliness or financial worry. These heroes have helped in so many different ways."
Cllr Neil Jory, Leader of West Devon Borough Council, added: "Each and every one of these nominations demonstrates what wonderful communities we have here. You all deserve a huge thank you from us. Keep up the great work, your contribution to the pandemic response has been outstanding."
If you would like to help out in your community during the current restrictions, or you think you have skills that would be useful, there are lots of ways you can get involved. Visit our webpage to find a local group or organisation to get in touch with.
Cllr Jory, added: "Thank you and well done to all of these people who were nominated, you are all heroes in our eyes."
