Under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Help to Heat local flexible eligibility, energy suppliers/installers will be able offer grants, using the attached Council's Statement of Intent. This allows them to install fully funded or subsidised energy saving measures in premises, which have been declared eligible by the Council. The Council do not provide the funding, the energy companies do. There are a number of installing companies who are contacting residents regarding the grants. The Council does not recommend or endorse any specific companies and residents are advised being eligible under the scheme may not result in a full grant. The amount of grant depends on the type of measure along with the type of house.
For advice on insulation, grants, energy use or even generating your own renewable energy, there are a number of local community energy groups in our area. Contact details can be found here.
The attached report outlines, in draft, the Councils approach and ambitions with regard to Home Energy Conservation as required under the above legislation. This document subject, to further consultation, will be updated over the coming months.
